VavaVida, The San Diego Style Bloggers and Bubbles Boutique had a meet and greet

VavaVida, The San Diego Style Bloggers and Bubbles Boutique had a meet and greet

Spreading the fair trade and fashion love

It doesn’t always rain in San Diego, but when it does, you know it will be when you are hosting an event. Despite the wet roads and traffic-jams, the San Diego Style Bloggers made it out  to Bubbles Boutique for a fun night of fashion. Everyone from VavavVida was so happy to have the opportunity to meet such a diverse cross-section of the San Diego fashion community. There were vendors, bloggers and artisans all under one roof, and they all had fascinating stories of how they had gotten there.

A few of the San Diego designers that showed up

Suki does a fantastic job of upcycling old items into beautiful jewelry. She works with pocket watches, typewriter keys and a variety of other trinkets. She has always been crafty, but now that her children are grown she is able to take advantage of her talents and sell her pieces to Bubbles and other stores.

Long ago, in a world far away, Michelle Lorenzo of Antenna Earrings was making jewelry  full time and selling it across the country. Life happens and as all of you parents out there will know, babies are born and priorities shift. Michelle had to take a break from her jewelry making but now she is back on track. While this anthropology major once saw herself as on archeologist, always in fascinating locations making new discoveries, now she is making the art instead of digging it up. When she isn’t making earrings or at fabulous events like ours, Michelle’s day job is selling African art.

And a few of our new San Diego blogging buddies from the San Diego Style Bloggers network

Lindsay is one of the lovely bloggers that attended the event. She spotted VavaVida’s Turquoise Murano Bracelet right when she walked and she ended up buying it before the night was through. Unfortunately, her brand new VavaVida Bracelet seems to have attracted her toddler just as much and has now gone missing in her toys! We hope for a swift recovery of the stollen goods.

Jennifer, another one of the fashion bloggers, brought her daughter along and she quickly turned into the most adorable photographer there. I bet she got some great shots!

Pat and Flor also came. These two awesome and super nice Brazilian San Diego fashion bloggers actually met some friends that showed up totally by coincidence. Happy happenings.

Of course the usual suspects showed up as well. Paulina of Lil Bits Of Pau and Keeks of KeeksFashionInc. came to the party.

Thank you so much to all of those who were able to attend. We hope that you had a great time and would love to hear your perspective of the event! Write about it on your blog and we’ll be sure to send you some social media love!
